Work Life People Wins Best New Start-Up Business Award
Award recognises pioneering work in creating menopause-inclusive workplaces

Work Life People is celebrating a major milestone after being named Best New Start-Up Business at the Local Women Business Awards, held in the Europa Hotel, Belfast.
The award marks a remarkable achievement for the newly launched organisation, which has been operating for just six weeks but is built upon decades of professional expertise, lived experience, and a passion for driving positive change in workplaces.
Founded by Karina Todd, Founder and CEO of Work Life People, the business was created with a mission to help organisations build menopause-inclusive cultures through specialist training, coaching and education programmes. Work Life People supports women, men, senior leaders, people managers and HR teams to better understand menopause and create workplaces where everyone can thrive.
While the business itself is new, its foundations have been years in the making. Karina spent 18 months developing and designing Work Life People’s comprehensive eLearning programme, drawing on more than 10 years of lived experience of the menopause journey, almost 14 years of training and coaching women, and over 30 years of corporate experience.
Throughout her career, Karina witnessed first-hand the lack of understanding and support available to employees experiencing menopause. This inspired her to establish Work Life People with a vision of helping organisations create more inclusive, supportive and human-centred workplaces.
The award comes at a time of significant momentum for the business. Since launching, Work Life People has engaged with a growing number of forward-thinking organisations that recognise the importance of supporting employees through menopause and fostering workplace cultures where people can perform at their best.
Commenting on the award, Karina said:
“To say I am proud is an understatement. While Work Life People was only born six weeks ago, this recognition represents years of dedication, learning and a genuine commitment to improving the workplace experience for people navigating menopause. The conversations I’ve had with organisations since launching have shown there is a real appetite for change and that makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
For Karina, the award is not simply recognition of a successful business launch but validation of a mission she is deeply passionate about.
“This award belongs to everyone who believes workplaces can and should do better. My goal is to support organisations across the world to become truly menopause-inclusive, ensuring that employees feel understood, supported and valued throughout every stage of their career.”
Despite the early success, Karina believes this is only the beginning for Work Life People.
The award-winning start-up remains focused on expanding its reach, helping organisations create lasting cultural change and ensuring menopause is recognised as an important workplace wellbeing issue.
With growing interest from employers and an ambitious vision for the future, Work Life People is determined to continue leading the conversation around menopause inclusion in the workplace.
As Karina says, “We’ve only just got started.”
